Chapter 5: Creating Presentations With Impress
How to Create a Basic Presentation
The following brief step-by-step example demonstrates different methods of how to create a
presentation document.
As with text documents, there are various ways to start creating a presentation:
Open the Wizard Presentation by choosing File > Wizards > Presentation. The Wizard
starts automatically each time a new presentation is created. If desired, switch off the
automatic mode on the first page of the Wizard. The Wizard is described in detail in the
Help.
By turning off the Wizard in Tools > Options > OpenOffice.org Impress > General, a
new, empty document (for example, by choosing File > New> Presentation) is opened.
Alternatively open an existing presentation document that is modified and saved under a
different name.
Or use one of the many templates available in the Templates and Documents dialogue.
Pressing Shift+Ctrl+N opens this dialogue or use File > New > Templates and
Documents.
For more information on the various dialogues used here, refer to Help.
